Every sentence from this engine follows the rules it teaches: subject–verb agreement, correct articles, and clean tense forms. That makes the output reliable raw material for grammar teaching — generate examples, then ask students to label, transform or imitate them.
The most effective grammar drills isolate exactly one variable. Fix the structure to Simple and the tense to Present, and every generated sentence drills third-person agreement ("the scientist examines", "the students examine"). Switch only the tense to Past and the same shapes reappear with past forms, letting students see the single change in an otherwise identical frame. That one-variable-at-a-time control is the core design of this page.
Teachers also use the export feature as a worksheet pipeline: generate twenty correct sentences, download the CSV, and deliberately corrupt one element per row — an article, an agreement, a tense form. Because the originals are guaranteed correct, you always have a clean answer key, and building a new error-correction worksheet takes minutes rather than an evening.

Sentence structures explained
Simple sentences
One independent clause with a subject and a verb: “The teacher opened the notebook.” The building block of all English writing.
Compound sentences
Two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction: “The chef baked a cake, and the children watched eagerly.”
Complex sentences
An independent clause plus a dependent clause: “Although the librarian hesitated, the detective examined the map.”
Frequently asked questions
Are the generated sentences always grammatical?
The engine enforces subject–verb agreement, article selection (a/an/the) and regular tense forms by rule, so output is grammatical by construction.
Can I focus on one grammar point?
Yes — fix a single structure or tense in the controls, and every generated sentence will drill that pattern.
Does it show parts of speech?
Each result card shows word count, structure and tense. Color-coded grammar highlighting is on the roadmap.
